James Rogan, M.D., was recently named the first on-site physician at Life Care Center of Gwinnet in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
In his new role, Rogan enhances physician accessibility to patients and families. He aids in hospital transitions and pharmacy communications, and being on-site allows him to personally respond to medical changes or emergencies in a timely manner.
“My interest was piqued about the position because of the direct care with nursing home and rehab patients in all age groups, but especially the elderly,” said Rogan.
“Dr. Rogan is friendly and personable and does a great job of speaking with families and allaying their fears of the unknown at this level of care,” said Amy Hudson, executive director at Life Care Center of Gwinnett. “He is readily approachable to the staff and facilitates a team approach to patient care.”
Rogan comes to Life Care Center of Gwinnet from a private medical practice he held in Atlanta for 11 years. He has served the Atlanta metro area as a physician in several settings over the past 21 years, including hospitals, clinics, hospice, home health care and skilled nursing facilities.
Board certified in family medicine, Rogan earned his doctor of medicine degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville in 1992. He completed his residency in Atlanta at Southwest Hospital and Medical Center, as well as Grady Memorial Hospital, in 1995.
Rogan is a member of the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Georgia Academy of Family Practice, the American Medical Director Association and the Medical Association of Georgia.
Originally from Gallatin, Tennessee, Rogan currently resides in Atlanta.
